Briose cu afine si faina integrala (Wholemeal Blueberry Muffins)

Ei, si iata ca a venit si vremea brioselor. Care sunt un alt „must have” la noi in casa. Adica cum vine asta? O saptamana fara briose? No way… Nu exista asa ceva. Macar o data pe saptamana. Daca ar fi o data pe zi, copiii mei ar fi si mai fericiti.

Dar mai am si eu si alte lucruri de facut, sa stiti! Asi, de parca m-ar crede cineva… Piticii mei considera ca daca sunt o „work at home mom”, cum se zice mai nou (oricum, suna mai frumos decat casnica, nu?), n-am alta treaba in afara de mancare, luat copiii de la scoala/gradi, plimbare cu bicicleta si din astea. Mda… as vrea eu. Si daca ma mai intreaba careva ce fac toata ziua… zau ca nu stiu cum voi reactiona!

Deci… dintre miliardele de retete de briose cu afine (credeti-ma, sunt extrem de multe), mi-am facut eu propria combinatie. Care dupa parerea mea si a celor care au mancat, este chiar buna.

Ingrediente (12 briose)

  • 1 1/2 cana faina integrala
  • 1 ou
  • 1 galbenus
  • 1/2 cana lapte (de vaca, capra, vegetal, nu conteaza)
  • 1/2 cana sirop de agave (sau orice alt indulcitor lichid)
  • 7 linguri unt topit (sau ulei de cocos)
  • 1 lingurita extract natural de vanilie
  • 2 lingurite praf de copt (de preferat fara aluminiu)
  • 1 varf de cutit sare
  • 2 cani afine

    Metoda de preparare

  1. Preincalzim cuptorul la 180°C.
  2. Luam 2 castroane. Intr-unul amestecam ingredientele umede: oul, albusul, laptele, siropul de agave, untul si extractul de vanilie. In celalalt combinam ingredientele uscate: faina, praful de copt si sarea.
  3. Incorporam ingredientele usacte in cele umede si amestecam, dar nu foarte mult pentru ca briosele sa-si pastreze pufosenia.
  4. Adaugam afinele si amestecam usor.
  5. Turnam aluatul in tava de briose (puteti folosi hartie sau ungeti cu putin unt si tapetati cu faina).
  6. Coacem aproximativ 20 de minute. Facem testul scobitorii: daca iese curata, briosele sunt gata.

Well, it’s muffin time. These are a „must have” in our family. There can’t be a week without muffins. My kids would prefer us to implement a program called „muffins every day”.

As if this would be the only thing I have to do. My children consider that if I am a work at home mom, I only have to cook, take them home from school, ride a bike together and stuff like that. Yeah, I wish! And if there is somebody else to ask me what I do all day long, I really don’t guarantee that I’ll remain calm.

So… after reading billions of blueberry muffins recipe, I’ve come to one combination which I find very tasty. And the other people who tried them did too.

Wholemeal Blueberry Muffins

Ingredients (for 12 muffins)

  • 1 1/2 cups wholemeal
  • 1 egg
  • 1 yolk
  • 1/2 cup milk (cow, goat, soy, almond, it really doesn’t matter)
  • 1/2 cup agave nectar (or any other liquid sweetener)
  • 7 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp natural vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Take two bowls. Use one to mix the wet ingredients: egg, yolk, milk, agave nectar, butter and vanilla extract. Combine the dry ingredients in the other bowl: flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ones. Only mix until well combined, so the muffins remain fluffy.
  4. Add the blueberries and give a gently stir.
  5. Grease a muffin tray or use muffin paper. Spoon the batter in the muffin wholes and bake for 20 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
